The Media Psychology Lab at CHRIST (Deemed to be University) is a dynamic space where media and psychology intersect through collaborative exploration. Guided by faculty like Dr. Rituparna Chakraborty and Dr. Shaharban N.V., the lab thrives on interdisciplinary dialogue. It brings together undergraduates and postgraduates who think critically about how media shapes, and is shaped by, identity, behavior, and emotion. What makes the lab unique is its culture of co-creation. The students engage in editing, research, content analysis, and reimagining narratives. As one member says, “The lab helps me turn overthinking into critical thinking.” Others describe it as a space of belonging, unlearning, and relearning media narratives. Whether discussing films, analyzing ads, or exploring media interventions, the lab fosters media literacy, insight, and socially relevant inquiry. It acts as a mirror for us to be more conscious, critical, and reflective consumers of media in an increasingly saturated world.
