On September 28th, 2024, Little Miss Sunshine was screened by Psychflicks as part of its ongoing effort to explore cinema through a psychological lens. The event saw a footfall of over 20 enthusiastic attendees who were drawn in by the film’s quirky charm and emotional depth.
After the screening, a rich and engaging discussion followed. Viewers reflected on the film's nuanced characters and unpacked themes such as family dysfunction, resilience, self-worth, and societal expectations. World Mental Health Week Stall - October 9, 2024
On October 9, 2024, Psychflicks successfully set up an engaging stall that attracted a footfall of 236 enthusiastic visitors. The stall was vibrantly decorated, creating an inviting atmosphere that drew in participants.
We featured two exciting games that added an interactive element to our presence: “Guess the Movie with a Very Badly Written Plot” and “Guess the Movie with Its Dialogue.” Both games sparked a great deal of excitement and participation.
Overall, the event was a resounding success, highlighting our commitment to fostering fun and community engagement through the love of movies.
Film Quiz - October 25, 2024
Psychflicks, in collaboration with the Christ University Quiz Association (CUQA), hosted an engaging quiz centered around the theme of cinema, using various clips, dialogues, and trivia from films. The event featured two rounds, a written preliminary round followed by an interactive verbal round, both curated and conducted by CUQA members.
A total of 12 teams, each comprising three members, participated in the quiz. The competition saw enthusiastic participation and showcased impressive film knowledge. The top three scoring teams in the final round were declared winners, concluding the event on a high and intellectually stimulating note.
Home Alone Screening - December 7, 2024
To celebrate the upcoming holiday season, Psychflicks hosted a special screening of Home Alone on December 7th, kicking off the Even Semester’s events. The screening drew an overwhelming response, with over 130 attendees — the largest footfall ever recorded for a Psychflicks event.
Due to the unexpectedly large turnout, the film had to be screened simultaneously across three different rooms to accommodate everyone. Although a post-screening discussion was planned, it had to be canceled due to technological delays. Despite this, the event was a festive success, bringing together a spirited audience to enjoy the holiday classic and mark the beginning of a new semester.
Kodachrome March - 8, 2025
Psychflicks collaborated with the Gallery to screen the film Kodachrome, with the event primarily organised and led by the Gallery team. The screening drew an intimate audience of 10 attendees who engaged deeply with the film’s narrative and visual storytelling.
Following the screening, participants took part in a thoughtful discussion that explored the psychological themes presented in the film, along with an appreciation of its cinematography. The session offered a reflective space for viewers to examine emotional nuance and artistic choices through a psychological lens.

On January 29th, PsychFlicks, the Film Club of the Department of Psychology, hosted its inaugural screening event featuring "It's Kind of a Funny Story." The special evening drew an enthusiastic audience, captivated by the film's unique narrative and dynamic characters.
